It has been a big indoor season so far for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls track team. The Hawks ran Thursday in Ames on the campus of Iowa State University at the Iowa Association of Track Coaches Indoor Championships. Mid-Prairie claimed three event titles on the day. Mitzi Evans won double gold for the second time this season, in just her second meet. Evans won the class 2A 400 with a time of 57.96 seconds and the 800 in 2:19.99. Sydney Yoder was an individual champ for the Golden Hawks, winning the 3000 in 10:53.46. She was also third in the 1500 in 5:31.02.

Other finishes for Mid-Prairie included fifth for the sprint medley team of Sophia Schwartz, Bronwyn Brenneman, Emma Lueck and Tabitha Evans in 2:02.88, ninth for Lueck in the long jump at 14’5.25″, ninth for the 4×400 team of Tabitha Evans, Annika Poll, Greta Sieren and Abby Fleming in 4:45.20, ninth for the 4×800 team of Annika and Dessa Poll, Ivy Reschly and Greta Sieren in 11:48.75, 10th for Lueck in the 60m dash, 17th for the 4×100 team of Ashlee Farrier, Dessa Poll, Paityn Jennings and Brenneman in 58.37 seconds, 22nd for Brenneman in the shot with a throw of 25’8″ and 29th for Farrier in the 60m hurdles with a time of 12.09 seconds. The Golden Hawks finished third in the team race with 36 points. Williamsburg won the team title with 53 points.

The boys half of the IATC Championship Indoor meet will be run Friday in Ames.
