The grounds of the Keokuk County Health Center are buzzing with the sounds of equipment as the facility begins the first phase of its expansion project. Initial work is being done on the exterior including waterproofing. Crews have installed footings and steel framework. The interior building out phase contract has been awarded to Christner Construction Incorporated at a cost of $1.2 million. In total, this expansion will add approximately 7,000 square feet to the existing clinic building. The new building will include a new waiting area, outpatient pharmacy and three new clinical rooms.
