Residents in the northwest quadrant of the City of Washington can vote by absentee ballot starting Wednesday for a Ward 1 special election.

Bethany Vittetoe Glinsmann and Deran DeLong have both officially filed to run for the seat that was vacated earlier this year by Danielle Pettit-Majewski, and the term ends in 2023. Polls will be open on Tuesday, April 5th, but absentee voting can be done in person now through April 4th at the county auditor’s office at the Washington County Courthouse. The office is open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays, and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, March 21st, and Friday, April 1st. Voters wanting an absentee ballot mailed to them must submit a request to the auditor’s office no later than 5 p.m. March 21st. For more information about the election, visit here.
