Washington County confirmed one new COVID death in the last two weeks, while only nine additional positive tests were confirmed since a week ago.

Wednesday’s weekly update from the Iowa Department of Public Health shows Washington County now has 77 COVID deaths, while over 100 were confirmed this week for a total of 9,349 deaths in Iowa. Hospitalizations have greatly decreased, with 110 admissions over the past seven days according to IowaCovidData.com, a website updated weekly on Wednesdays, built by the Iowa Newspaper Association. IDPH shows 61.4% of Iowans are fully vaccinated, including 56.3% of Washington County residents. Washington County Public Health has one walk-in clinic left this month on Wednesday March 23rd from 1-4 p.m. on the third floor of Federation Bank. No appointment is needed and free COVID vaccines are available for those five years and older, as well as flu shots for those six months and older.
