Employment was terminated this week for a Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy who faces a felony abuse charge.

The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved a personnel change request for 44-year-old Robyn Hoppman during Tuesday’s meeting effective Friday. Hoppman was on administrative leave following her arrest for an alleged domestic incident that occurred at her residence in Riverside on February 15th. Following an initial investigation by the Iowa State Patrol she was charged with domestic abuse assault with intent to inflict serious injury first offense, an aggravated misdemeanor. Hoppman was additionally charged by the special prosecutor for this case Louisa County Attorney Adam Parsons this month with willful injury causing bodily injury, a class D felony, and domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor. Hoppman has pleaded not guilty to these charges. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
