Another spring is upon the Washington girls’ soccer program and the Demons open the new season tonight hosting Centerville.

The orange and black will look to build off of a 7-8 campaign in 2021, but must replace 10 graduated seniors including leading scorer Trina Griffin and her eye-popping 27 goals. They do bring back all conference selection Greta Rothe and her 16 goals last season. Elyse Hunt and Alex Murphy return in goal after combining for 130 saves. Audrey Anderson returns after five goals in her freshman season and Giselle Marcelino is back after three tallies. Seniors this year include Rothe, Hunt, Ava Turner, Emma Stalder, and Ellie Anderson. Centerville was 9-8 last season and Mickey Stephens will headline them after a 25 goal campaign. 

The season commences at 4:30 p.m. this evening with all home games this spring being played at the new Washington Wellness Park.
