The Mid-Prairie High School Mock Trial team will compete on the biggest stage this week. Mid-Prairie advanced through Regional competition on March 23rd at the Hyatt Conference Center in Coralville. In competition, teams are divided up into prosecution and defense teams and within those two sides, into attorneys, witnesses and alternates. They are judged on opening statements, attorney examinations, witness examinations, closing arguments, how well the students worked together and whether they demonstrated professionalism and integrity. The Mid-Prairie team includes Jacob Flynn, Charolette Sieren, John Stutlz, Xandree Campbell, Grace Puttmann, Avery Slaubaugh, Avery Frede, Phoebe Shetler, Aliza Parkers, and Ashlee Farrier. They are coached by Kristene Evans. They will compete at State today through Saturday at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.
