The Washington Chamber of Commerce Executive Director has recently been elected chair of the Iowa Association of Chambers of Commerce Board of Directors.

Michelle Redlinger will be leading the board this year which represents chambers of commerce across all regions of Iowa with the purpose of providing guidance in the areas of organizational sustainability, growth, public awareness, and member programming. Redlinger has served on the IACC board for about five years and she brings 10 years of experience in the chamber industry to the role, “It’s kind of humbling to realize I do understand the industry and I have some advice to give others. And that doesn’t mean that there aren’t things that I’m still asking questions about and trying to learn myself, but it’s nice to be in that spot where I have developed comfort in some procedures that I like here and we’ve served as a model.”

Redlinger pointed out the Leadership Washington program as one of those model examples that has been simple to execute and yet is a leading example in the state, with a continued excess in the number of applicants for each year’s enrollment. She looks forward to attending several conferences this year with IACC covering topics such as time management and place making and seeing how she can bring those ideas back to Washington.
