One of the best players in Mid-Prairie basketball history is receiving more recognition this week. Golden Hawk senior Maddie Nonnenmann was named all-Southeast District in Class 3A by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association. Nonnenmann was a third team class 3A All-State selection by the Iowa Writer’s with 16 points per game, sixth in class 3A and five rebounds a contest. Nonnenmann shot 39% from the floor, 27% from downtown and 66% at the line. Her 150 total made shots were third in the River Valley Conference and her 41 three point field goals led the team and were fifth in the River Valley. She completed the campaign with 128 rebounds, 42 steals, 37 assists and 28 blocked shots. She scored 27 total points in two games during the Pizza Ranch All-Star Series Saturday at Dallas Center Grimes High School as part of the Southeast All-Star team, including finishing a perfect 10 of 10 from the floor on the day and posting a team high 18 points in her squad’s matchup with the Northeast team in the first tilt of the day.

Nonnenmann finished fourth on the all-time scoring list for the Golden Hawks with 1,066 points.
