Three Washington County non-profit groups have recently established permanent endowment funds with the Community Foundation of Washington County.

Hawkeye Area Community Action Program (HACAP), Washington County Hospital Foundation, and the Washington County Fair Association have established these endowment funds which will continue to grow and provide a steady source of income for these organizations far into the future, according to Community Foundation Executive Director Millie Youngquist. Anyone who makes a tax-exempt donation to these endowments will be eligible to receive an Endow Iowa tax credit. The Community Foundation of Washington County was formed in 2006, and is overseen by a volunteer board of local citizens which permanently endows most of its assets, ensuring that gifts given will last forever.
