It was the first home meet of the young year for the Sigourney golf teams when they welcomed Iowa Valley on Tuesday for a South Iowa Cedar League dual and both schools ended with a split. 

The Savage girls picked a victory by shooting a 204 to best the Tigers’ 223. Maddie Hornback managed medalist honors by shooting a 45 in the nine-hole meet and Claire Svenby was runner-up with 48. Reggie Talbert shot a 53, Maizy Cowman 58, and Julia VanEe 71. The Sigourney boys were edged by just one stroke with the final tally being 206-207. Clay Morse did shoot the best score of the day with a 45. Other finishes included Isaac Bruns 53, Cain Weber 53, and Cole McKay 56. 

The Savages get back on the course today hosting a triangular with Belle Plaine and Tri-County.
