Property owners in Winfield may be eligible for a rebate from a new city program. The City of Winfield has put together a sidewalk rebate program to assist property owners in making a more walkable community. To participate, property owners must first apply for a sidewalk permit and request rebate funding at city hall with two weeks allowed for approval. The sidewalk must be constructed to meet city ordinance code. After construction is completed, an invoice must be submitted to City Hall for payment and final inspection by the Winfield Building Administrator. Upon approval, reimbursement to the property owner at a rate of $10 per linear foot will be approved by the city and disbursed within six weeks.
