A Fairfield man was recently sentenced to two years in prison for domestic abuse assault in Washington County.
Court documents show that through a plea agreement, 31-year-old Bryce Allen Gaylord is convicted of a lesser charge of domestic abuse assault second offense, an aggravated misdemeanor and is committed to the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Coralville. Gaylord shall be given credit for time already served. He must pay an $855 fine with applicable surcharges, and is found not reasonably able to pay Category B restitution. Charges were dismissed for violation of a no contact order and interference with official acts, though a charge was filed on March 25th for tampering with a witness or juror, an aggravated misdemeanor.
The domestic abuse charge stems from an October 20, 2021 incident that occurred in Washington. Gaylord was also convicted of eluding, a serious misdemeanor, for a January 14th pursuit that occurred in Jefferson, Wapello, and Keokuk counties.
