The Hillcrest Academy boys soccer team faced a top-10 test on Monday, traveling to defending Class 1A state champion and currently No. 10 ranked Burlington Notre Dame, falling to the Nikes in a Southeast Iowa Superconference match 6-0. Defenses and tough weather conditions controlled the first 20 minutes of play when Notre Dame broke through with a pair of goals in the space of two minutes. Down 2-0 going to the half, the Ravens had the wind at their back in the second half, but the Nikes kept command of the contest with a pair of quick goals in the first two minutes after the break and then scored twice more down the stretch to put the game away. Aiden Krabill and Collin Miller split the time in goal Monday for Hillcrest, with Krabill posting 14 saves during his 70 minutes on the line, Miller had two stops in 10 minutes. Notre Dame racked up 15 shots on goal and did not allow any to the Ravens. Parker Davis and Gabe Zurita each scored twice for the Nikes. Notre Dame is now 3-1 on the year, Hillcrest falls to 2-3, they host Central Lee Thursday.
