An Iowa City woman was arrested on a Washington County warrant Monday for revocation of her pretrial release.
The Washington County Communications Center states the Cedar Rapids Police Department arrested 31-year-old Sadie Rae Smith who is charged with possession with intent to distribute over five grams of methamphetamine, a class B felony. Bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety. Smith was last arrested in February for a January 19, 2021 incident. The criminal complaint states a business at 3184 Highway 22 in Riverside reported Smith’s vehicle was parked in their temporary drop-off location with drug paraphernalia in plain view. A search was conducted and Washington County Sheriff’s deputies found seven bags of suspected methamphetamine and multiple digital scales and cell phones. Revocation of her pretrial release was recommended as she failed to report with the Eighth Judicial District Department of Corrections as often as required. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
