The Washington boys and girls track teams are ready to put on a show for the home fans Thursday at Case Field for the Washington Relays. Originally, a girls only meet, a rain-out earlier in the track season has turned tonight’s meet into a co-ed affair. The Demon boys ran at Mid-Prairie on Tuesday where they finished eighth with Brayden Hartman supplying the highlight with his championship in the shot put.

The Washington girls last were in action Tuesday at the Pantherette Relays in Mount Pleasant where they also had one event winner, Quincy Griffis in the 3000.

One of the schools joining the Demons tonight at Case Field will be the Mid-Prairie boys. They won the team title at their home meet in Wellman Tuesday with four event titles as Thaddeus Shetler beat the field in the mile, Carter Harmsen in the discus, Jayden Stafford in the wheelchair 100 and Justice Jones, Kaden Meader, Braden Hartley and Cain Brown in the shuttle hurdle relay.

Washington will honor 13 seniors on the night including Sam Ackerman, Kasen Bailey, Lincoln Hanson, Lucas Kroll, Travis Leyden, James Medrano, Jacob Miller, Evan Miller, Mateo Salazar, Peyton Snakenberg, Lance Sobaski, Kole Williams, Matt Wolf, Quinn Wubbena, Ethan Zieglowsky and Liaden Fillinger.

Teams joining the Demons and Golden Hawks include Belle Plaine, Benton, Davis County, Fort Madison, Knoxville, Mount Pleasant, Cedar Rapids Prairie, Tipton, Wapello, Danville, Iowa City Liberty, and Iowa Valley. Action starts at 4:30 and continues into the evening at Case Field in Washington.
