The Mid-Prairie School board met in regular session, albeit at an earlier time, on Monday to coordinate interviews with prospective future superintendents. The Board, along with Trent Grundmeyer of Grundmeyer Leadership Services (GLS), hosted virtual meetings with eight semi-finalist candidates in closed session. After the interviews were complete the group spent time in deliberation and narrowed the field to a finalist pool of three remaining candidates. The Board entered closed session twice on the evening totaling more than five and a half hours.
Finalists for the position are Matt Leeman, current associate superintendent at Clear Creek Amana Community School District, Brian Stone, current principal at Fairfield High School and Zach Wigle, current principal at Solon High School.
The next step in the process is for the board to reach out to various community members and district stakeholders to form a pool of 40 representatives that will make up a formal interview team to meet with the finalists on May 9th.
Current Mid-Prairie Superintendent Mark Schneider announced his retirement earlier this spring. His final day with the district will be June 30th.
