It was another heart wrenching one goal loss for the Washington girls’ soccer team on Thursday when they traveled to Baxter Sports Complex in Fort Madison and fell to the host Bloodhounds 1-0.
The Demon offense had their chances with eight shots on goal, but could never find the back of the net and a second half score by the Bloodhounds’ Coree James proved to be the difference. Elyse Hunt had six saves in goal for the orange and black. This was the Demons’ third one goal loss in a row to Fort Madison and in four defeats this year, they have been outscored by just six tallies.
Washington is now 7-4 overall and 3-4 in the SEC while Fort Madison improves to 7-2 and 6-1 in the league. The Demons return home Monday hosting Fairfield.
