A driver is deceased following a single vehicle wreck in Washington County Sunday.

Iowa State Patrol states at about 11:44 a.m. 25-year-old Brenden Poole of Ossian was driving a Chevy Impala at a high rate of speed southbound on Highway 218, according to witnesses. Poole lost control of the vehicle near mile marker 73 and entered the west ditch. The vehicle then vaulted a small creek, and came to rest after making contact with a tree. The incident remains under investigation. Jones & Eden Funeral Home and multiple agencies responded to the scene.
