A Democratic opponent to U.S. Senator Charles Grassley is visiting Washington Saturday.

The Washington County Democrats are hosting Admiral Michael Franken for a meet and greet from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Mills Seed Building at 212 North Iowa Avenue. The Des Moines resident is running against former Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer of Cedar Rapids and physician and Minden City Council Member Glenn Hurst for the Democratic nomination in the June 7th primary election, to then run against Sen. Grassley in the November 8th general election.
