Five South Iowa Cedar League golf teams hit the course at Prairie Knolls in New Sharon on Thursday and Keota passed the final tuneup before conference by placing first in the nine-hole meet. 

The Eagles shot a 164 to best second place Montezuma’s 168. All six Eagle golfers were separated by just four strokes with Caden Sprouse leading the way with a 40. Colten Clarahan and Evan Vittetoe each tallied 41s, Cole Kindred 42, and Sawyer Stout and Billie Kindred shot a round of 44. 

Keota now prepares for the SICL Tournament on Monday in Oskaloosa.
