Aspiring unicorns, dragons, wizards, and more are invited to Washington County Hospital and Clinics’ annual Kidzfest event.

“A Magical Journey to Health” is this year’s theme, with activities like a Fairy Dust Hunt, Unicorn Toss, face painting, photo booth, and much more. Stage entertainment will include the Washington Middle School DeVox singing group, local band Aces & Eights, and Wes the Best Balloon Guy. WCHC Director of Foundation and Marketing Amy Vetter shares why they host this free event, “To draw the youth in our communities downtown to find out about activities, health and wellness tips, really things that are going on during the summer. So they’re not sitting inside their house on their computers or their phones, so they’re outside being active. Making sure that they’re getting some sports or some wellness things into their daily lives and that kind of thing.”

Several health, wellness, and recreation organizations and businesses will be hosting booths, and organizers have about tripled the number of food vendors this year. Kidzfest lasts from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday at Central Park in Washington, with a rain location at the high school. KCII will be broadcasting live from the Big Red Radio as the first stop of its Summer Town Tour.
