The Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting for Encore Express will take place on August 11th. 

 

The main goal of Encore Express is to provide quality meals to those 60 years and older. An aspect of the program that might get overlooked is the social experience of interacting with those in the community. Harrison March who is one of the organizers for Encore Express says that the social experience is as big of a part of the program as the meals.

 

“A big part of this program is giving the people an opportunity to socialize and give them an opportunity to know what’s going on in their community. This has been a part of our Encore program in other cities and towns for a while now.”

 

The Hy-Vee voucher program for Encore Express will still be available and those vouchers can be picked up at the Encore Express meals that will be available twice a month. Encore Express is a subsidiary of the Heritage Area Agency on Aging.
