It was another tough night for the sticks on Friday for the Washington baseball team, as they welcomed West Branch for a non-conference matchup and fell 4-2 at Dick Sojka Memorial Field.

As heard on KCII, the Bears (4-7) opened the game with single tallies in the first, second, and third innings. The Demons had both of their runs come thanks to two out RBI singles from Kole Williams in the first and third frames. An insurance run in the fifth was all Lucas Pierce needed on the hill with the Bear senior tossing a complete game four hitter. Williams finished 2-for-3 with two RBI and the other hits came from Ajay Six and Ethan Patterson. Defense and pitching did their part for Washington with just one error in the game and Luke Beenblossom tossing 3 1/3 innings of relief giving up one run on three hits. Avery Six got out of a bases loaded no out jam in the seventh. Ethan Zieglowsky started and suffered the loss recording five outs and three runs to his name.

The Demons fall to 2-9 and they stay home Monday hosting Keokuk for a doubleheader.
