The weeklong Juneteenth celebrations continue here in Washington and the Washington Public Library will be hosting a series of impactful events over the next few days.
One of these events will be on Wednesday and it’ll feature Jenny Barnett who is an Educator from the African American Museum of Iowa in Cedar Rapids. Library Director Cary Ann Siegfried previews the event.
“On Wednesday the 15th at 3pm we have Jenny Barnett who is going to be talking about the relationship between Juneteenth and when the emancipation proclamation was signed as there is a big gap between those two events.”
For more information about the remaining Juneteenth events or about any other upcoming Library sponsored events you can reach out to the Washington Public Library and find their schedule of events posted at KCIIradio.com on the community calendar.
