A second spring vacancy on the Highland School Board was filled by appointment at their June meeting. On May 13th, District 5 representative Megan Allen resigned her position on the board. At that time, the district then posted the vacancy along with a survey online for those interested in the position. The board filled this vacancy June 13th by appointing Melissa Murphy to the District 5 seat. She will fill the remainder of Allen’s term which was scheduled to elapse in November of 2025.

In May, the board installed Josh Thomann by appointment as the District 6 representative after Kathy Butler resigned her position. Thomann will serve the rest of Butler’s scheduled term through November of 2023.
