At the June 28th Board of Supervisors meeting, the board approved several personnel change requests. The appointment of a new deputy to the Auditors Office was a change that was back unanimously by the board, and the new deputy Tammy Stewart received high praise.
Washington County Auditor Dan Widmer recalled that Stewart came into a rough situation when she first started. “I think we all know that when Tammy started, she inherited a difficult situation and she cleaned it up a took care of the situation much faster than I thought she could.” She also drew the praise of Supervisor Stan Stoops, who once again highlighted her handling of a difficult situation.
Stewart will be taking over the responsibilities of Sub-Division Coordinator. She will also start learning the duties of tax increment financing, which deals with capturing the changes in various taxes that result from new development and then diverting that revenue to subsidize that development.
