The Hillcrest Raven basketball program took time this month to put in work at their annual summer camp. Under the direction of head boys basketball coach Dwight Gingerich and fellow camp administrators Mitchell Drey, Aaron Gingerich, Chris Nachtigall, Ron Swartzendruber and Mitchell Schmeider, nearly 100 campers participated in two weeks of skill work, games and drills. Award winners included Mr. Hustle recipients Hudson Pollard, Teague Pepper, Charlie Hughes, Brendan Neuschwander and Paxton Wilson. Best Defenders were Isaac Birky, Grayson Gingerich, Joe Kelcher and Cole Troyer. Best Rebounders were Cohen Nachtigall and Kellen Miller. Outstanding Campers were Kale Bailey and Drayce Miller and Mr. Fundamentals were Rowan Miller, Kale Miller, Cutler Bell, William Grier and Brayden Humphries.

For fifth graders Liam Frederick won the H-O-R-S-E contest, Paxton Wilson the free throw contest, Kellen Miller the 1 on 1 contest and Drayce Miller the spot shooting contest. For sixth graders, William Grier was the H-O-R-S-E, spot shooting and three throw winner, and Cole Troyer the 1 on 1 winner. For seventh grade Jude Ours won the H-O-R-S-E contest, Eli Witthoft free throws, Sutton Bailey 1 on 1 and Cutler Bell spot shooting. In eighth grade Kale Miller was H-O-R-S-E and 1 on 1 champ, Andrew Rath in free throws and Teddy Ingersol in spot shooting and at the ninth grade level Rowan Miller swept all contest championships.

Current players in the program Phoenix Anderson, Bryce Bailey, Lydia Beachy, Grant and Mason Bender, Lincoln Miller, Seth Ours, Jace Rempel and Malia Yoder also worked at the camp as demonstrators and officials.
