The Mid-Prairie School Board will gather Thursday evening for a business meeting. The highlighted item on the agenda includes a schematic design presentation by Carl A. Nelson and Shive-Hattery for work at East Elementary and the middle school. The district is currently in the middle of a set of projects designed to renovate both buildings which includes the addition of six classrooms and more than 8,900 total square feet, along with family and consumer science and special education enhancements at the middle school, and the addition of classrooms and restroom facilities at East Elementary. Total cost for these projects along with new lighting at the softball field, replacement of the surface of the high school track, an addition to the indoor facility on the high school grounds for wrestling and changing rooms is estimated at $11.3 million. Thursday’s meeting will begin at 6p.m. inside the Central Administration Office Community Room on the campus of Mid-Prairie High School in Wellman.
