The Washington Public Library has held several meetings for the book clubs participating in their summer reading program. The theme of this year’s program is “Spend the Summer in Italy,” which examines books set in or are from Italy.
The “Brand New Book Club” will meet Saturday, July 23rd, at the library and is another option for those that haven’t joined a book club before or are looking for another topic to read about. Library Director Cary Ann Siegfried provides some more background info about the club. “It’s a club where anybody can take anything off our new bookshelf and talk about it because there’s not a set book for discussion.”
The new bookshelf features fiction and non-fiction books published last year and can be found downstairs in the library. Pre-registration is required for this meeting, so participants must contact the Washington Public Library ahead of time.
