Highland plans to expand its playground.

The pre-kindergarten playground on the west side of the building  will be expanded by the school. The asphalt is currently being redone, along with new basketball hoops and diagram games for the kids.

Turf will be installed on the east side of the building to try to eliminate issues of students  tracking mud into the school. Superintendent Ken Crawford notes that the turf will provide excellent sledding for the kids during the winter months.

The playground project will cost $1.4 million due to these new additions and the previous additions last year.

The district also plans to redo the playground entrance with money left over from its PEPL fund.
