A Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy reported being out with a stolen vehicle along Highway 22 in Riverside at 12:30 am on Thursday. Both the driver and the passenger of the stolen vehicle were arrested, and a stolen Microsoft Tablet was found after a search of the car. The passenger was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thirty-three-year-old Dustin Roy Martin of North Liberty was arrested on one felony count of 2nd-degree theft relating to a stolen automobile, one count of 3rd-degree theft, three counts of 5th-degree theft, possession of burglary tools, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of prescription pills. The 2nd-degree felony charge carries a possible five-year prison sentence and a maximum fine of $7,500.

Both subjects were transported to the Washington County Jail, and the vehicle was towed away so the owner could retrieve it. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
