A handful of Washington high school golfers stayed busy on the links this summer participating in the Iowa PGA Junior Tour with numerous tournaments throughout the state.
Roman Roth, fresh off of his eighth place showing at state last spring, participated in seven events with his top tournament being June 29th when he bested the 50 person field at Brown Deer in Iowa City. The incoming junior shot a three below par 18-hole score of 68 to win the boys 16-18 year old division. His younger brother and incoming freshman Rajan won the 14-15 year old division at the same tournament and took the top spot in Cedar Rapids on July 19th with a 73. Teague Mayer was active in the tour participating in 15 events with his top score of 73 coming on July 14th at Airport National in Cedar Rapids. Kaylin Long represented the Demon girls in three events and the senior won the Jerry Smith Junior Tour Summer Kickoff tournament on June 20th by shooting an 88.
