Louisa County Conservation invites you to celebrate Louisa County history Sunday, September 4th, from 3-5 p.m. at the Toolesboro Mounds National Historic Landmark.
The museum at Toolesboro will be open to the public and with hands-on activity stations for flintknapping, atlatl and other technology.
New this year is the release of “Stories of Louisa County”, a compilation of stories as told by residents of Louisa County.
Louisa County Conservation Naturalist Lana Artz-McComb shares what the book is about and how it came to be, “A neighbor of Toolesboro, named Nancy Hayes and I got together and we started a project called “Stories of Louisa County” where we collected stories, photos, anecdotes from people who have grown up in Louisa County. We compiled it together and printed a book and that is what we are going to be celebrating. So it will be a combo program celebrating the release of this booklet and doing some hands-on history activities.”

Artz-McComb adds that most of the stories compiled go back to the 1940’s and 1950’s all the way up to present day tales.
