The fans at Roth Field in Wayland were treated to a showcase Friday night when the WACO Warriors welcomed the Springville Orioles. The Warriors pounded the birds to the tune of a 57-22 beat down. WACO led 14-0 after one quarter on a pair of opening frame Simeon Reichenbach touchdown runs. They would find the end zone four more times in the first half with Reichenbach finishing the rushing touchdown hat trick, Reece Oswald adding two rushing scores, and then Isaac Oswald connecting on a 34 yard touchdown pass to Reichenbach make it 42-0 Warriors at the break. Out of half, Reichenbach made it four rushing scores, five total touchdowns on the night with a 13 yarder and the score stood at 49-0 WACO into the fourth. In the final period, WACO’s Clayton Miller broke a 67 yard touchdown run, scattered between late Springville scores as the reserves did battle. The Warriors also got a pair of two point conversions from Chase Waterhouse and Lerik McCarty.

WACO outgained Springville 284-164 in total yards including 206-119 on the ground and the Warrior defense forced four Oriole turnovers, two picks and two fumbles. Reichenbach had 123 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns. Isaac Oswald was perfect for the Warriors on the night, going four of four through the air with a touchdown and rushing for another. Reece Oswald twice and Clayton Miller once were the other Warriors to reach the end zone. Drew Diers led the WACO defense with seven tackles, one for loss. Chase Waterhouse and Odeh Shtefanchuk each recorded a sack. Mason Miller and Clayton Miller picked off passes, Reichenbach and Waterhouse recovered fumbles. The Warriors are now 2-0 on the year hosting HLV next week.
