Crooked Creek Christian Camp is bringing back its Senior Day event with a new name. The newly named Lunch and Lecture program is an event designed for people of all age groups to gather together and share stories while sharing a meal. The event will include a soup lunch, and a free-will donation is encouraged.

There will also be a featured presenter for the day, and Heather Bender, the Executive Director for Crooked Creek, talked with KCII about whom they are bringing in. “So, this year, John Sharp will be our speaker; he’s a retired historian and storyteller. He’s going to be spending the day telling his own stories, and after he’s done, we’ll have people from the group share their stories.”

John Sharp is a recently retired historian who taught history and Bible at Hesston College. He is a former director of the Mennonite Church USA Historical Committee and Archives and has 15 years of experience as a pastor. He has also been a guide for tours exploring Western Europe, Central Asia, Prague, and Poland.

The date for Lunch and Lecture is October 6th and will begin at 9:30 am with coffee and tea.
