At the August 30th Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting, Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius provided a pair of quarterly reports for the board. The first report was for the first quarter of 2022, stretching from January to March.
According to the report, the main goal during this quarter was to work on improving the roads as much as they could without having to delay projects due to inclement weather. Paved roads were cold patched in March, and over 30,000 tons of rock were hauled to try and maintain rock roads. Washington County spent approximately $274,000 on snow removal for the quarter, using approximately 761 tons of salt for road clearing purposes. The total amount of money spent on snow clearing for 2021-2022 was approximately $281,000.
