Sarah Grunewaldt, the long-time Executive Director for Main Street Washington, stepped down in August after ten years at the helm. The original application deadline for the open Executive Director position was August 31st, but it has now been extended to the end of September.

Maddie Widmer, the board president of Main Street Washington, spoke with KCII about why the deadline was extended another month. “We don’t feel we had given all of the potential candidates the best option. I feel like we timed it pretty poorly, in my opinion. With school starting, the state fair taking place, and with people taking last-minute vacations, we felt like we needed to give more time to potential applicants to give them a fair shot.”
