The schedule ramps up for the Columbus Community football team tomorrow when they welcome Wapello for a district showdown.

The Wildcats could do no harm in their first two weeks coming in with a 2-0 record after defeating Louisa-Muscatine 55-14 and Highland 55-0. The ground game has already accumulated 799 yards with four players over 100 led by Triston Miller with 266 yards and three touchdowns. Riley Kaalberg has 16.5 tackles for a defense that has forced six turnovers in the two games. Wapello sits at 1-1 and they rebounded from a 41-6 loss to Mediapolis in week one to handle L&M last week by a 60-21 score. Casey Short has completed 13 of 23 passes for 256 yards and three touchdowns while Dylan Woodruff leads the ground attack with 190 rushing yards and five house calls. Ryan McDonough leads the defense with 10.5 tackles. 

The Wildcats will try to end an eight game losing streak to the Indians including a 52-21 defeat last year. The week three matchup begins at 7 p.m. tomorrow in Columbus Junction.
