Fifty-one-year-old Steven Davis of Johnson County was sentenced to prison for up to five years in prison for violating his probation on a Sex Offender Registration Violation, Second or Subsequent Offense, a Class D Felony.

In March 2021, Davis was arrested in Wellman after he failed to report that he had moved and got a different job. Davis eventually pled guilty, and the State argued for Davis to be sent to prison at sentencing. Instead, on September 17th, 2021, the court granted the Defendant probation with the Department of Corrections. Davis, however, never reported to his probation officer, and a warrant was issued for his arrest on November 5th, 2021. Davis was eventually arrested on his felonious warrant by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on August 4th.
