ChoctoberFest in Washington is almost here, as the Washington Chamber of Commerce, Elliot Realty Group, and Washington County Hospitals and Clinics are partnering up with local businesses for what could be the biggest ChoctoberFest yet. Twenty-two businesses in Washington are participating in this year’s celebration, where chocolate lovers can enjoy chocolate samples and treats while taking a stroll through downtown Washington and raise money for breast cancer awareness.
Alisha Davis, the Event Coordinator for the Washington Chamber of Commerce, spoke with KCII about how the event has evolved over time. “Our first event was really big, and we were amazed by how many people attended. We’ve done something differently since then by making it a ticketed event. I think this year will be a more successful event because we’ve made it a fun chocolate walk and a way to support all of our downtown businesses that participate.”
Tickets are available for purchase, with VIPink Swag Bags being available for $30, which includes two drink tickets and hors d’oeuvres, and a ChoctoberFest chocolate pass. Regular ChoctoberFest passes are also available for $10, which includes a chocolate passport and a take-home goodie bag. All participants must be high school age and older, and only 350 tickets will be sold.
