The Sigourney-Keota Cobra football team finished it’s undefeated ride through Class 1A District 6 Friday, pounding the Van Buren Warriors on their Senior Night in Keosauqua 69-20. The Cobras controlled action from the opening whistle, leading 21-0 after one and 35-0 at the break. SK won the second half 34-20 to put the game away. The Cobras outgained the Warriors 538-293 in total yards, including 478-73 on the ground.

Three Cobra backs cracked the 100 yard mark rushing, led by Reid Molyneux with 172 yards on 12 carries with a pair of touchdowns. Cole Clarahan finished with eight carries for 106 yards and a trio of scoring runs. Jake Moore had five carries 103 yards and a touchdown. Kale Clarahan and Cole Kindred each had one scoring run. In the pass game, Sawyer Stout was four of five for 60 yards and a touchdown to Kindred. The SK defense was led by Molyneux, Moore, and Jack Clarahan all with four tackles each. Aidan Anderson came away with an interception. Sigourney-Keota is now 6-2, finishing as undefeated champions of District 6 at 5-0. They open the postseason at the Snake Pit Friday against Sumner-Fredericksburg.
