Main Street Washington is sponsoring the Lights of Love- Memory Tree Dedication in Central Park for the coming Holiday Season. Those interested can purchase a fresh-cut lighted tree for $100, which they can dedicate as a Memorial to honor someone of their choosing. Those who purchase a tree can also personalize the tree to honor their family member. Those who choose to personalize their tree are advised to use shatterproof decorations.

Maddie Widmer, the Board President for Main Street Washington, talked with KCII about the registration for Lights of Love. “Folks can reserve their trees until November 19th or until we have all of our reservations filled. However, if you get in your registration before November 12th, your tree will actually have a personalized wooden plaque that will be put into the ground right next to your Christmas Tree. So, we recommend that everyone get their registrations in before that November 12th deadline.”

The investment will support Main Street Washington’s revitalization efforts in Historic Downtown and are a tax-deductible donation. Each honoree will be announced as the memorial trees, and Downtown Washington will be illuminated on the night of November 26th during the Holiday SNOW Lighting Ceremony and Lighted Holiday Parade. Trees will remain lit throughout the Holiday Season.
