The All-State selections for band, orchestra, and chorus were announced for Iowa this week, with several area students representing their schools.
Washington High School has three students who earned their way onto the All-State Band. Selections include Bailey Rees on clarinet, Claire Wubbena on Trombone, and Teague Mayer on Tuba. The Demons also have Kevin Flannery chosen as an alternate on Tuba, along with Mikaila Matheson on Flute.
Ethan Sexauer of Mt. Pleasant was selected for the All-State Orchestra on violin. The Panthers also have three students earning a spot on the All-State Chorus, including soprano Natalie McCormick, tenor Tien Nguyen, and bass Robert Heaton. Brandon Burtlow has been selected as an alternate.
Fairfield High School has three All-State Chorus members as well. They include alto Erin Epperson, tenor Connor Hawkins, and bass Andrew Titze.
These students will be performing in the 76th Annual Iowa All-State Music Festival November 19 at the Hilton Coliseum in Ames. Tickets can be purchased at the Iowa High School Music Association website under the festival information tab.
