On October 28, at approximately 2:12 a.m. Fairfield Police received a report of a domestic assault at the 800 block of East Burlington Avenue in Fairfield. The victim reported that his girlfriend, 26-year-old Sherry Thomas-McCabe of Fairfield, had assaulted him and barricaded herself inside the residence with their 3-year-old son.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Fairfield Police Department’s joint Strategic Response Team (SRT) responded to the scene, along with a Fairfield Police Department hostage negotiator.
