Another example of the WACO Warriors’ dominance on the football field is in their accolades. Nine WACO players made first team all-district in the IHSAA’s District 6 for 8-man football, and 11 total Warriors were named all-district.

Leading the way is senior linebacker Drew Diers, who was named the District 6 Defensive Most Valuable Player after piling up a team-high 82 tackles. Senior running Simeon Reichenbach makes the first team again after racking up 1,480 yards from scrimmage and 31 total touchdowns on offense, while one of his starting offensive lineman, junior Chase Waterhouse, joins him on the first team. Senior quarterback Isaac Oswald is first team all-district with over 1,300 passing yards and 21 TDs. His top target, senior Oleh Shtefanchuk, also makes the first team after collecting almost 400 yards and nine scores receiving.

On defense, WACO all-state senior defensive back Mason Miller gets back on the all-district team. Miller is one interception away from matching the state-high nine he had last year. Also earning first-team honors is defensive linemen Colton Leichty and Ty Egil. The junior Leichty has 16 tackles for loss and nine sacks, while the senior Egil is not far behind with 14 tackles for loss and seven sacks. Sophomore Louden Huisenga makes the first team after collecting 45 tackles and three picks. Junior cornerback Reece Oswald and senior offensive lineman Kohl Hildebrand also received honorable mentions.
