The Lone Tree Lions battled all season long on the football field, and their efforts were rewarded with five players garnering all-district honors. Lone Tree went 3-5 overall, but all three wins came in District 6 play.
Junior Jaden Sanchez is one of the first-team selections as a kicker. Sanchez was a perfect 19-for-19 on extra-point attempts and averaged over 48 yards per kickoff, with one more than half of his 28 kickoffs going for a touchback. Senior offensive lineman Mitch Koedam also makes the first team after helping the Lions carve out 186 rushing yards per game.
Senior defensive lineman Andrew Hotz had an excellent season that coaches have deemed worthy of a first-team selection. Hotz was fourth on the team with 35 total tackles and led Lone Tree with seven tackles for loss and two sacks. Junior Ethan Bockelman is also named a first-team choice at defensive back with 36 tackles and two interceptions. Senior Matthew Hemsted received the Golden Spikes as a senior that was injured most of the year and did not play in enough games to qualify for all-district honors but was still recognized by the coaches.
