The Washington Public Library, in celebration of Indie Author Day, will be holding its Washington AuthorFest at the library from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm on Saturday, November 5th. For libraries, Indie Author Day is an opportunity to bring together local indie authors for a day of education, networking, and workshops.
The local authors that will be in attendance are John Bain, Julieanne Gentz, Summer Lisk, Corinne Stanley, Dave Stoufer, Dan Henderson, and Jean Wolf Logan, with featured guest speaker and author Heather Gudenkauf. All authors will be available to talk to readers and sign books.
Washington Public Library Director Cary Ann Siegfried talked with KCII about this new event. “Indie author day is this month, so we wanted to have an event to celebrate independent authors and some of our local authors. We have seven authors that will be reading from their works, and all of the authors will have their books for sale, and they’ll be able to sign them. We hope to be able to do these types of events on a regular basis because we have authors coming to talk to us all the time, so this is a great way to get them an audience.”
No pre-registration is required for this event; for more questions about the Washington, AuthorFest, contact the Washington Public Library.
