The Highland Fine Arts Department presents their fall musical “Matilda Jr” later this week. Show times are scheduled for Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5 at 7 p.m. and will take place at the high school. 

The musical, based on the Roald Dahl novel, centers around a 5-year-old girl named Matilda Wormwood. Matilda has special abilities, and uses these powers, along with the help of her friends to overcome obstacles throughout the story. Junior cast member Gwen Piette describes the show as “a great mix of a tragic story, but also a lot of comedy. It’s also appropriate for all ages.”

Tickets can be purchased at the door, and cost $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
