As a new season of high school wrestling gets underway, the Washington Demon girls’ team are hoping that their valuable experience from last season will translate into more success this season. Washington had three girls’ wrestlers qualify for state last season, and all are returning as the Demons prepare to open the new season at the North Scott Tournament tonight.
Leading the way will be senior Teegan Sulentich, who went 16-7 last season at 170 pounds. Sulentich got as far as the third round at the IWCOA State Championships before eventually falling short of placing. Junior Jillian Langstraat is back after going 6-14 at 105 lbs last season, and junior Jenna Bose is also back after making it to state. Washington’s first meets begin at the North Scott Tournament at 5 this evening.
